A deep hood and flowing robes define this faceless monk sculpture. By leaving the face uncarved, the design directs attention to the seated pose, folded hands, and play of shadow.
Hand-carved from a single piece of padauk wood, it is a contemporary meditation-inspired art piece rather than a portrait of a named teacher. Its compact shape suits a desk or quiet shelf arrangement.
